About me

Hello and welcome to my personal website. I’m Benedict, a computer scientist based in Brilon, Germany.

I currently work as a Data Engineer & BI Consultant at a BI software company, where I build ETL pipelines and data warehouses for large enterprises and increasingly bring AI-driven systems — such as MCP servers — into the mix. Alongside this, I founded my own individual business developing and distributing GrainForge, a macOS SwiftUI app for digitalising scanned film negatives and positives — tying my hobby of analogue photography to my professional interests.

I first studied computer science at the Cooperative State University Stuttgart (DHBW), earning my bachelor’s degree as part of a dual study program, and went on to complete my master’s degree at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg. Together with the DHBW I also occasionally supervise student research projects.

Beyond code, I have a great passion for photography, and this website doubles as a creative outlet for my photo projects. That passion extends to motion pictures and music — I keep a small collection of physical movies and vinyl LPs.
